They have been meeting for the past 18 months with recent weekly telephone calls.
Class Gift. Fran Schloss announced that the class gift was $567,000 with money still coming in. This was the largest 50th year class gift thus far. Sixty-five percent of the class participated and gifts received up until June 30, 2007 will be counted. Sheila Tobias said the alumnae office staff members were invaluable in their assistance and she thanked Ann Kamensky and Diane Mercer. The Reverend Mary Bunton Adebonojo also participated in the service. Lucia also announced that Judy Moscow Heimann received an honorary Phi Beta Kappa during this commencement week.
Apple Tree Awards were awarded by Kate Moynihan of the Radcliffe Institute. She explained these awards are given based on nominations from the class and start after the 50th reunion. They represent long-standing dedicated service to the class of 1957. The ten receiving these awards were Ann Eldridge, Susannah Alden French, Lucia Hatch, Airlie Cameron Lennon, Emily Romney, Fran Schloss, Mary Jane Benton Sherwig, Maria Terman, Sheila Tobias and Ursula Turano.
